boring June Holidays

It's the June holidays now! most kids would be pretty excited because they might be going overseas but I am not. The June holidays for me are pretty much uneventful except for just la.st Saturday when me and my family went to Universal Studios Singapore for HP family day. I had loads of fun there. But other then the occasional surprises my parents organize, there is not much to do other than painting really childish pictures, crocheting lame stuff that i give up after some time, playing my Ipad and watching television. My mother already purchased a painting kit online from this online shopping website called Qoo10; it has loads of stuff onsale but never mind about that now. Anyways she already bought it and I a really excited and can't wait for it to come and be delivered but until now it still has not come. I am getting a little impatient right now. I hope it will come soon or else I will be sooooooo bored.

Playing with Hello Kitty now

My sister Charmaine is nowadays playing with her Hello Kitty figurines very often. I am quite surprised as she never really used to play with it much in the past. I guess it is because of 2 reasons; 1 is that it is the holidays now and 2 is that she found it after a long time. I play with it together with her sometimes. We play Princess School with the toys and we each control 2 characters. Sometimes we also ask our helper to play with us when she is free.

Primary 4 now !

Time pasts by very quickly; I am already Primary 4! Yet it feels as if I just started Primary School yesterday. Lot's of things have happened; i am now a class monitor, there is a lot of responsibility being one. If I am not careful, I might become a prefect next year, and I really don't want to because I will have to do duty; that means i will just have to stand at a specific spot in my school during recess and tell students to stop running or stuff like that. Really dull stuff. I have a really handsome English teacher. Lot's of girls really like him! Like my friend Clara and Zi Yi. They even started drawing comics to give him. OMG i am really glad i am not really that crazy about him. My BFF Angelina (angelfish) started this comic drawing group called Comic World, she is the manager and I am assistant manager. That is even better than when I was in Puppy Times! (the comic group Clara and Zi Yi started though I think Caelyn who is another girl also was into it) I was only a reporter. The bad thing about being the reporter is that I have to interview Mr Ong(the English teacher) and literally interview him! Not joking there! I really think we should not argue with Puppy Times as we did last time and it got in the way with our friendship. Until now I am still having friendship issues with my Ex-BFF Clara. but I don't think we are that mad at each other anymore. In February to March, i had very high fevers. Actually I was already having fever last year December but stopped in January. It got so high that I had to go hospital 2 times. There they poked so many needles in me just to draw blood. I still have to go back there sometimes for follow-ups. I definitely don't like the feeling of drawing blood.

A girl who likes handy craft

Since she was young, Bethanie was always attracted to vibrant colorful art crafts. Yes. She is so gifted and talented, just reading and looking at manual books and pictures she was able to create something out of nothing. Along these years, these are art and crafts she has picked up by herself: 1. Rainbow looms, last year she made a lot of bracelet made out of rubber bands. The wonderful thing is that she was able to make money out of these looms. She sold it to her aunties, popo, and her friends. Total money she collected was $10.50. She saved it all instead of spending it to buy Mindcraft games. I told her, if she wanted to get that game downloaded in IPad, she has to earn money to pay for that game. The game cost $8.90. So since she was putting an effort to earn money and motivated to do, I told her, it's ok, Mummy pay the cost and you saved the money you earned in the piggy bank. I taught her to be motivated, that you must persevere to excel in live, take responsibility of your money, and be independent. I also taught her to pray and ask God and you shall receive. At first she did not believe she could earn money by selling the looms. But God is gracious, He always gives more than we ever ask. She could earn more than the cost of the game and somemore within a day, she earned more than enough. Things that seem impossible, God made it possible. All is made possible in God who strengthens us. Another thing I would like to praise about her is that she is very self motivated when come to rainbow loom. She would search videos that were teaching how to make looms from iPad or laptop. Love her! Love her! Muah muah.... 2. Friendship bracelets She also made alot of bracelets to her friends. Those are from the art craft that I bought for her as Christmas gift, or birthday gift 3. Knitting This is the latest skill that she picked up during her 11 days staying in the KK Hospital. She made a handphone cover for her phone, purse, small bag.

Valentine's Day 2015

God my Father, I am blogging again as my daughter Bethanie has been encouraging me to write again. She enjoys so much reading about this blog and knowing how much she has grown up from a small beautiful baby to a radiant lovable girl now at 10 years old. I have lost myself in my busy working life and did not spend time writing about my daughters. Times fly fast and now she is coming to be 10 years old. On Valentine's Day, I spent my morning going for a talk at Holy Innocent's Primary School together Bebeth's sister: Charmaine. The talk was awesome. It revealed our love languages in 5 different languages. So in order to be effectively loved and loving your loved one, one must know what is their language. Enthusiastically just learnt from the school, I wanted to know her love language. So I asked her to take the survey paper. Here is her result which I translated into a pie chart on Heart Shaped Pink Card. My card for her.

Model student

This is the 2nd time Bethanie came back from school with good news, she became a model student again in her k2 class. She was delighted with the prizes the principal handed over to her. It was a set of colour book and colour pen. As a parent, I and my husband were so happy and proud of her. She got it at the same time in Jan for 2 years in a row.

Kids - Stancar Marathon

We were on the way to collect the race kit for Stancar Run this coming Dec 5 last Saturday. I asked Bethanie if she wanted to follow me to go to EXPO. As usual she started to ask alot of questions related to the race itself. She knew about the race long ago, cause I joined a few races before. While I was walking to the venue, actually it was a total bizzare that day. It was not the day we supposed to collect the race, I misunderstood it or rather I remember wrongly. Anyway, while we were walking towards the hall which i thought Stancar was holding the venue, she asked this and that. She asked how long the race was, and i answered her plus telling her that there was actually race for children. After a while, i guess after the information that she dug out from me sank in her brain, she out of blue said this, "mummy, mummy, I have a secret to tell you. I think I want to join the kids race next time with you". I was really taken aback of her response and initiative. I never asked her to join nor motivated her to do running. I told her; "yes, of course, you can join the race next time, then we can run together. However you need to practice running, ok?" I smiled and smiled. Sometimes children are really amusing. I told her daddy about it and he can't stop laughing and smiling.

OK, so...mummy hopes to see you run next year, Beth, promise OK! If the distance is only 750m, it's easy pitzy!

2nd tooth drop

As of today, she has dropped two teeth. Is it too early for her to drop her teeth? She is only 5 years old. I checked google and found that at age 6 years is the time when milk teeth start to drop out and the permanent (adult) teeth start to come forth in their place.

The first milk tooth to be lost is the lower central incisor from around 6 years of age. It becomes wobbly and then falls out, and the permanent (adult) tooth will start to come through (erupt) soon afterwards. The first of the adult molars also start coming through at the back from around 6 years, behind all the deciduous teeth (and are called the first permanent molars).

There is the 3rd one that is coming soon to drop out, it's already wobbly now.

First tooth drop

Last Wed, hubby called me from home just to inform me that Bethanie's tooth was going to drop.
I came back that night and directly checked her tooth. It was her lower part tooth. Since then she has been very conscious about her tooth, she asked me to extract it out. Hmm...i was a bit reluctant, i told her that let the tooth drop by itself.

This morning she was just complaining about her tooth to me again. As this is her first encounter with dropping tooth, she was much afraid of what will happen to her tooth and so forth. True enough, while i was on mrt this morning on my way to office, she called me up with tears and cry telling me that her tooth dropped and her gum bled.

Hm...I am going to tell her about fairy tooth story tonight.

Centuries ago, in Europe it was a common practice when a child's baby tooth fell out (primary tooth), to bury it in the ground. The tooth was, in all likelihood, buried in the garden or in the field's surrounding the child's home. It was done so that a new tooth (permanent tooth) would grow in its place. The other reason for this ritual was the superstition, that if a witch got a hold of the tooth, a curse could be placed on the child, (as with fingernail clippings and/or hair). So by burying their children's teeth, this unfortunate curse was prevented from happening. Hopefully.
Anyway, as people migrated to this country, many of the same beliefs and superstitions followed them. However, since most of the people now found themselves living n towns and cities, bare land wasn't as plentiful. So they began placing the teeth in small flowerpots, or planter boxes. Eventually this rite too changed, and the fallen out tooth was placed under a child's pillow, where the parents switched the tooth (always in the middle of the night) for a treat or a coin.

Of course the curious children wanted to know what happened to their small teeth. And since children love to hear stories, their parents explained to them who was actually removing their teeth and leaving the treat in its place. The Tooth Fairy was born. All children grew to love this rite of passage, and the coming of the Tooth Fairy.
But what never changed, was the practice of placing the child's tooth (after it was quietly removed from under their pillow), into a small box or pouch. Where it usually lay hidden in the back of a drawer, from any unseen eyes. Why? Well, I like to think that even as adults we are still a little afraid of witches.

I hope you like the story, interestingly enough the Tooth Fairy is one of America's "original" fables. And many countries are just now re-discovering this tale. Shower of love by drawing

It's just so cute and sweet, at these ages she likes to shower her love to me by giving me her drawings. She would specially make a birthday card for me and drew a picture as my birthday gift.
