Bebeth

The 2nd blog is dedicated to my first child, Bethanie, we call her Bebeth sometimes. I decided to create one for her, as it is not fair if I only created one for her sister to be - Charmaine. This is to capture the precious moments and her milestones from now 15 mths till she grows up. Hope you enjoy it!

Father's day - Gift from Bethanie

Look, what she did for her father as Father's day gift.

Kungfu Panda show and t-shirt

We had our cinema date on June 7th. She loved the show, though she was scared at first and most of time she covered her face with her hands. Since then she always mentioned about the show, about kungfu panda, taylong, tigress, and because of that I bought her and her sister the Kungfu panda t-shirt.

It was free for her, we just bought two tickets, and she sat in between us. :-) it's supposed for couple seats though.

SEIMPI MUSIC SCHOOL

There were many updates about her. She had her first class in June started on 14. She was so excited until she could not nap in the afternoon, as I said that we were going to music class today.

Well, she was happy and enjoyed the class so much. She sang and danced and learned slow and fast, low and high, count, notes, and many others. And one thing is she responded to the teacher and lesson well, and she is not shy to answer the questions that Teacher Jane threw. She is a bright child.

Day 1 - All 3 programs : English, Mandarin, and Math

First day was started, 26 June. Bebeth started with Volume 2 English and Volume 1 Chinese. But for her it should be faster, according to trainer. She was enthusiastic, and to eager to guess the cards. Everytime I flash cards to her she will read out loud. And when we play guessing game, most of the time she is correct. As Lawrence says, do not test our child, let's treat it like guessing game. He said after 2 months, she can read a book. :)

Because I am a working mother, I should only flash 2 times a day.

On 4th day, she can read her sister's English 5 cards in a sentence, though the cards were not flashed to her. "Mummy Daddy love baby Charmaine/Bethanie". What lawrence said was correct, she can just pick up from what we flashed to Charmaine, and that is too easy for her age, though she was not able in the beginning.

Glenn Doman Programme

Finally we made our way to GlennDoman at Upper Thomson, on last monday 23 June. Bebeth was with us during the presentation. It was an mind opener session, Daryl shared with us why baby/tod should start reading English and Mandarin and learning Math since young. Could not believe that we spent that much, we got English and Mandarin Kit, it says that it last for 2 year program. Well, since we have Bebeth and Charmaine, it is worth buying though. The 2 programs come with 2 boxes each, total 4 boxes, and they are huge and heavy. The flash cards are big and striking. We were very excited and on Wednesday 25 June, we attended the workshop. How I wish if I have known this GD long ago, we may start Bebeth when she was before 2. Well, the trainer Lawrence said, it is ok, she is 3, so we bought another program which was Math. Total spent was $1550, phew it's a huge money. But as the trainer said, parents should not think this is an investment, it is a gift to our children. Whether the investment can grow or not, it's a separate thing. it will create stress to the children because we expect something in return. Yup, I do agree with this philosophy. And it's a gift to my daughters learning process and it is supposed to be an enjoyable learning process. We were wrong in many ways. But it's not too late to correct the methodology. I am glad I came to know about this program.
